The Juvenile Abuse and Neglect Information System, JANIS, has been developed by the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the CIP. The objective of the system is to facilitate and expedite the handling of child abuse and neglect cases by generating accurate data, that reflects the hard work of our circuit courts. JANIS is the courts’ only source of data collection. Accurate and timely entry is critical to ensure we are meeting the needs of children in the child welfare system as effectively as possible.
